Block & Mute

Solar Network provides two mechanisms to control your interactions with other users: Block and Mute.

Block

Blocking a user creates a mutual interaction restriction. Neither you nor the blocked user can see or interact with each other.

When you block someone:

  • Their posts are hidden from your feed and timeline
  • You cannot reply to, react to, forward, boost, or award their posts
  • Their messages and notifications are suppressed
  • Direct messages between you are blocked
  • They are hidden from search and autocomplete
  • Follow requests between you are blocked

Mute

Muting a user is one-directional. You stop seeing the muted user's content, but they are unaffected.

When you mute someone:

  • Their posts are hidden from your feed and timeline
  • You stop receiving notifications from them
  • They can still interact with your content normally

Key Differences

Block Mute
